TENT SIZE RECOMMENDATION FOR SKI TOUR & SNOWSHOEING
Deciding on the right size tent for your adventure
Although you have slightly less restrictions than Alpinists and extreme Mountaineering, you will still be physically challenged every day and face extreme weather conditions which can turn quickly. With this in mind, compact, lightweight, robust and quick to set up tents are a must.

Tent Size Recommendation

1 Person Tent (Ideally with Vestibule Space for Changing / Storage)

2 Person Tent (Ideally with Vestibule Space for Changing / Storage)

3 Person Tent (Ideally with Vestibule Space for Changing / Storage)

With this form of travel we would recommend splitting up the party into smaller groups and having more than one tent. If you have a base camp you plan to keep returning to, there’s always an option to set up a more permanent, larger tent for 5 persons +.
WHICH SEASON TENT FOR SKI TOUR & SNOWSHOEING
Keeping safe and warm from extreme elements
As you will be spending days traversing the winter backcountry, facing snow falls, cold weather fronts and freezing nights, it’s important to look for a good 4 season tent to keep you and your party comfortable and dry.
WHICH STYLE TENT FOR SKI TOUR & SNOWSHOEING
Deciding on the right style tent for your adventure
Optimised Symmetrical Geometric, Geodesic and Semi-geodesic tents are among the most popular sought after tent shape for this kind of snowy adventure. With a curved, dome shape, extra poles and guys they robustly constructed to withstand tough weather conditions, buffering high winds away and allowing snowfall and rain to slide off with ease.
Often with a good internal space, you can comfortably remain warm when sitting out bad weather fronts or bunkering down on a cold, blustery night. Optimised Symmetrical Geometric / Geodesic / Semi-Geodesic tents tend to be a bit heavier in weight due to additional poles than a Dome tent – something to consider if weight is an issue.
